Query_Response in V2.3

In HL7 version 2.4 I use the Query_response from ADR_A19 to retreive mij data returned by a BizTalk server.
Works fine but how do I do this in version 2.3 where I don't have a Query_response.

Ex: QUERY_RESPONSE[0].PID.PatientName[0].Familyname.Surname.Value;

Can you tell when this will be ok.
For me this is a big problem because I should do beta testing by the end of the week.
I bought your component because it supported al versions of HL7.
If possible a hot fix is a temperary sollution for now.
I can't understand that nobody else constatated this issue, why sending a patient query when you can't receive an answer.
Please keep me informed.
